Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec "Aristide Bruant"

HENRI DE TOULOUSE-LAUTREC (1864 - 1901)

Aristide Bruant

Lautrec's skilled depiction of people and objects in motion relied on his highly linear style and gives great emphasis to contour. Here he creates a vintage French advertising poster for La Chaine Simpson bicycles. Lautrec added to the illusion of velocity by allowing some of the wheel spokes to disappear into invisible spins.

This lithograph, published by George Goodstadt, is a limited edition of
2000, printed on archival arches paper, and created in conjunction with the
Musee Lautrec in Albi, France.

Framed Dimensions: 36" x 47"
